Title: DISCARDED MEMORIES Year: 2004 Type: Assemblage Size: 35 x 20 cms Just as we are able to throw away band aids and gauze with our bloods, after we cut ourselves, we are eliminating thousands of traces of our existance every day, in the form of deleted digital messages, unsaved chat sessions, real time phone conversations, voicemail messages in our cellphones, etc... I am hypoglycemic, and I have to test my blood sugar everyday. I was throwing away the stained little alcohol patches, until I realized that all my genetic content, my history, my life was contained in those patches. I am now using them to create unique Grid Art pieces. This is the first one of the series called Discarded Memories, that will include Flash / Director / Web and Performance art.
